I am interested in your experience with smaller sizes for QR Anchors. We have been using the Anchor size which is in the PDF generated from within D365 Guides - about 10 x 12 cm. . However we note the following in the same PDF.
"Anchors that are larger than the recommended size (40cm) require users to move farther away from the anchor. Scanning from a greater distance results in decreased accuracy"
The stated 40 cm seems very large?
We would like to make the anchors on some equipment smaller eg about 6 x 8 cm. Has anyone used QR Anchors this size or smaller and was it successful
Regards
Hello Maleko2, thank you for your inquiry.
Generally speaking, larger QR codes are easier to detect from a distance and from closer up. The minimum size QR code is suggested in the .pdf is intended to support customers for the best ratio of detectability against the myriad of environmental factors you may encounter (reflectivity of ink, uniformity of lighting over time, tendency for person to cause shadows, surrounding luminance compared to printed luminance, etc). You can read more about QR codes best practices and lighting conditions here:

You can try smaller ones but they may not be detected as well or at all. We recommend a size that will achieve best results for most users and scenarios, however you are free to experiment with larger and smaller sizes. I would love to hear what your findings are. They may work if you have a very uniformly lit and non-reflective environment. Please report back after you try those smaller QR codes.
