AX 2009 - Issues while reloading the license file

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hey,

We got a fresh copy of our license for AX 2009 from VOICE and tried to import it using "Load license file" functionality. However we are getting many errors which are proving very difficult to even understand. Hopefully someone here can point us in the right direction:

  • Illegal data conversion from original field BIT_TMPINVENTONHAND to BIT_CHECKINITIALBALANCE.Difference: Unable to convert string data types to anything but INT, or REAL field types (2).
  • The 'InventJournalId' field string length decreased from 30 to 10 which could result in data truncation.
  • An action you have taken requires that one or more fields be dropped from the Microsoft Dynamics AX database. This can be caused by changes in the data dictionary such as deleting fields or disabling fields through configuration keys.

However, because the fields listed below contain data, you may want to back up your database before the fields are deleted. This field and all data it contains for all companies will be deleted:

    SYSCOMPANYUSERINFO.PBAUSERPROFILE, SYSCOMPANYUSERINFO.HRMVIRTUALNETWORKID

  • License value for ID 149 has not been created.

The above listed errors are not encountered when we do a normal database sync, without reloading the license.
Thank you for you help!

This like has given me some insights regarding the dropping of columns. I will try out the suggested steps and post the results here.
