Two subgrid for same entity

Hi experts,

I have an entity A with a form which contains 2 subgrids of entity B.

Both the subgrid columns are same. If I add a value to 1st subgrid, that should not show in the 2nd subgrid.

How shall I achieve this?

Thank you

    Hello,

Based on what you described, you need to create two relationships between Entity A and Entity B. That will split the Entity B records between the two subgrids.

When using only one relationship, the only option to filter the records displayed in the subgrids is by using different Views. You would need to have something (e.g. a field value) to differentiate the Entity B records that should be displayed on each subgrid.

    Hope this helps you.

Is there any differentiator in the records in subgrid 1 vs subgrid 2? With subgrids you can set the Default View so with 1 single relationship, so long as the filter separates them, you're good.

    Example:

    Entity A = Company (Account)

    Entity B (1:N) = Employees (Contacts)

Subgrid 1 = Employees in Ontario

    - Default View = Contacts in Ontario

    - View filter = State/Province (Contact) = Ontario

    - set sub grid filter to "Related Records Only"

Subgrid 2 = Employees in Quebec

    - Default View = Contacts in Quebec

    - View filter = State/Province (Contact) = Quebec

    - set sub grid filter to "Related Records Only"

let me know if this helps.

May I then ask what is the difference between grid 1 and grid 2? cause without a differentiator i don't understand its purpose.

    Hi D M,

As per your query it seems you need to display 2 sub grids of  Entity-B in Entity-A .

Regarding 'Sub Grid 1' data not to populate in 'Sub Grid 2' there must be some underlying business condition so please check the business condition and implement the logic accordingly using

configuration --> creating 2 different views to display in 2 different grids as per the business condition and restrict change of view.

    Thanks,

    Goloknath

    Hi Jacob,

The two subgrids show the list of related actions to be performed. The subgrids are in different sections. The first section shows some information and necessary actions to be taken. The next section also works same way.

    Hi D M,

I believe I have already addressed your query above which will address your mentioned condition which I already implemented in my earlier engagement.

    1. you need to create relationship

    2. Create 2 different views of B based on conditions to be placed on 2 different sections on A

    3. The conditions implemented will restrict the data duplication in both the grids.

    Thanks,

    Goloknath

Creating two different relationship didn't solve the issue. I tried but both the relationship had the lookup value mapping by default which cannot be removed
