Hi everyone.

I want to be sure about some stuations about delegation.

you know, when we are not available on dynamics ax (for example: going to vacation) we can delegate work items to another person.

But I wonder. when I'm come back, can I check what he/she did instead of me.

Hi David, have you checked the audit trial window that is e.g. available when you have a look at ledger transactions? The user who recorded something in AX can be identified from there. If I am not wrong then you should also be able to query on the audit trails records in the system admin or organization admin module. Hope it helps, Ludwig

    Hi Ludwig.

Thanks for your reply. but I want to track all of the menus.

for example: I'm purchase requisition owner. when user submit a purchase requisition to workflow, I have to approve or reject.

but when I go to vacation, I use delegate function on ax. and system delegate work item to "X" user who I delegated.

so I want to see which requisition approved or rejected by X user when I am not available.

In workflow history, you have the possibility to track the all the workflow steps and approvals. You have to click in each workflow to get the all steps.

    Hi David,

I believe no standard functionality is available that allows you tracking all of the menus a delegate used on behalf of somebody else. I even could not think of how this should actually work as the delegate is also doing his ordinary work in the system. So, how could AX possibly differentiate whether the delegate acted on behalf of somebody else or acted on his own?

To me, it looks as if you want to control everything that somebody else did in the system during a specified period of time in order to prevent that something will be done wrong. What I could possibly think of is using the audit feature to track that but I believe that this is the wrong approach. If you want to control what somebody is doing in AX you should use user roles and the related standard security features to stop him/her from accessing something he/she is not familiar with.

    All the best,

    Ludwig

    Hi David,

Like Nuno said the history is kept per workflow instance. I don't think there is a standard report showing allwith automatic delegations. So probably when you are really interested, you can create a report or have a look at the workflow history.

Also note that when you return from a vacation some workflows are still delegated to a person and should be delegated to you or approved by your replacer. Also already assigned workflows before you leave are not automatically delegated anymore. They should be handled by the original person who was assigned to this workflow.
