Line Display not working in Retail POS

Microsoft Dynamics 2012 R2 Retail POS.

We are planning to use Line Display (GigaTek DSP840). *USB Version*

The line display am trying to configure supports usb to serial, I have installed the Prolific USB to serial driver successfully, after installation the COM Port 3 was assigned to the Line Display & the baud rate was 9600. I have set settings to 19200,N,8,1 from Windows Device Manager\Ports.  Note:  there is no dip switch in my device, in Epson ADK Utility.. I have set baud rate to 19200, I can test the device with this utility.. it works.

Now in AX-> Retail> HardwareProfile->LineDisplay  Select Display to OPOS driver and Display Device name as DM-D210 . When I start the POS i get following error An error occurred and retail POS could not find the line Display. You can try to fix the problem, and then click retry. Or click Cancel to start the Retail POS without the Line Display.

in the event viewer it says :

Microsoft.Dynamics.Retail.Pos.Services.Peripherals: System.NotSupportedException: Peripheral [LineDisplay] - Character set '0' is not supported by Windows OS
at Microsoft.Dynamics.Retail.Pos.Services.LineDisplay.Load()
at Microsoft.Dynamics.Retail.Pos.Services.Peripherals.LoadPeripheral(Int32 peripheralStringId, IPeripheral perphiral).

I have install/uninstall OPOS driver/Epson ADK but no success, please help.

Regards,

Junaid Ahmed

    Hello ???

Someone at least tell me which "POS Machines, Line Display, Cash Drawer" Microsoft AX supports.

    Hi Junaid,

OPOS Common Control Objects, version 1.13, are required for peripheral devices. After using an
installation utility provided by a hardware manufacturer, confirm that the Common Control
Objects have not been overwritten by an earlier version. To help avoid performance issues, verify
that you are using the correct service objects for the hardware devices that you are using.

    Hello Junaid,

As per the error message, have you tried changing the Character Set.

Hardware Profile > Display character set

Change it to 850 for exemple.

    Zaheen
