Hi Everyone,
Got a question about outbound process in advanced warehouse which I believe could be related to 'handle by license plate' parameter on mobile device menu item.
The task is relatively simple - customer wants to ship out entire pallets with minimum effort. The full scenario is as follows:
- Items are received into dock on a pallet
- Picking work is created to ship out the pallet and all its contents
For simplicity we can assume that this is simple cross docking scenario where PO is linked to a sales order and the lines on SO/pallet/PO are exactly the same.
Location directive allows for receiving items into license plate controlled location. For example, purchase order for 2 different items is received into dock with license plate LP-0001.
Once goods become available, sales order for same items and quantities is released to warehouse. Work is created to pick the two items from the dock where pallet LP-0001 is kept.
Is it possible to transact full license plate LP-0001? In real life scenario, pallet could be made of numerous lines so ideally we would want to avoid having to scan the license plate X number of times.
By the sound of it, this is what 'handle by license plate' menu item is supposed to do. However, when I attempt to use it on created work ID I get the message "The work XXXX cannot be completed because some of the pick work lines do not have located license plate IDs. Consider using the Work templates form to set up work breaks so that all work lines include a located license plate ID". I tried kicking off the work manually to have the target LP created but the error persists. I can't see any documentation on web nor do I know anyone who managed to get this option to work.
Many thanks for the input
