Do not want a particular item to be eligible to earn loyalty points in a transaction

Hello Dynamics Team,
 
We have a situation where we do not want only a particular item to earn any loyalty points in a transaction while other items added in the same transaction must earn loyalty points.
 
Documentation Loyalty overview - Commerce | Dynamics 365 | Microsoft Learn says that discounts must be added to the price groups. But we do not want to extend any discount on any item hence did not created any discount.
 
Please suggest how to achieve this scenario, requirement is to make only one item ineligible to earn loyalty points.

    Product exclusion functionality (like we have in assortments and promotion configuration) is not available in loyalty schemes configuration. We usually maintain a supplimental product hierarchy for loyalty and group all products that has the same earning value into one category. This category will be used in the earning defintion.

    The old thread talks about defining a category that includes only the valid items and setup an earning rule in the loyalty scheme form using this particular category while customer states that they do not want only one item to not earn any point in the same transaction when other valid items are added in that transaction.
