We have a client who has moved their GP server out to an Azure cloud. They have connected some of their local workstations to this cloud server but have not joined them to their domain which resides on the cloud server. Will it be possible to install eConnect and get it to connect to their cloud server? The workstations will not have a domain account to use. Will it be possible to set up users in SQL that will recognize the local window user accounts?
Thanks Derek, that is what I will be telling the client. I am not sure why they won't add these workstations to their domain. Perhaps I can use this as a reason to do so.
The closest we would have to eConnect in a non-domain environment would be this:
support.microsoft.com/.../the-recommended-steps-to-install-econnect-for-microsoft-dynamics-gp-20
If you're installing eConnect on the GP Server that is on a domain, the install of eConnect should work fine, without the need for the above article.
In regards to users on the workstations, not having a domain account to use, they would need to have a way to execute the stored procedures for eConnect in the Dynamics GP databases, I would think that would be the hurdle you'd need to get over.
Will see if anyone else in the Community has tried this before and gotten it to work.
Thanks
