Custom Workflows?

I'm fairly new to GP....but familiar with Workflows. Looked at all the GP documentation about workflows...and there is a lot of good stuff about them....setup, security, etc........but one thing is not addressed.

Can you create your own custom GP workflows using Visual Studio? If so......where might I find more information on the topic.

There is a workflow SDK that enables you to create custom workflows.
