Is ethe GP Web Client Compatible w/These 3RD Party Apps?

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

We're planning our upgrade to GP 2018 and would like to take full advantage of the Web Client.  Are there any compatibility problems w/any of the following add-ons?

  • Integration Manager
  • Project Cost – Rockton (formerly Olympic)
  • BI 360 Reporting – Solver
  • eConnect
  • Precipio – Applied Payment tool
  • Greenshades – 1099 Misc Reporting
  • Mekorma MICR
  • Project Cost Access database
  • JCR GL Mapping
  • Smartlist (Not 100% certain if this application separated from GP)

Thanks!

No GPPT was not listed, but it is something every GP site should have.

    Check out the Benefits Presentation:

Smartlist Designer is a Microsoft product that comes with GP. It should be Web Client compatible.

As you may have gathered, I'm not an actual GP user...;-) but a sys admin who'll be doing the base server builds and supporting our team w/the upgrade.  I appreciate your replies.  You mentioned GP Power Tools in an earlier reply.  Is one or more of the apps I listed in my original post included in GPPT?  I also read somewhere else that Smartlist is part of GP, but that Smartlist Designer is not.  Is this correct?  Thanks again!

eConnect Works as it has no front end. It is a server side integration tool only.

Thanks.  I have reached out to all of them, but had yet to receive replies when I posted here.  Some answers I found on support pages, a couple actually replied.  I'm still waiting to hear back from eConnect, Rockton, and Precipio.

    No. Not a blanket.

Some ISVs have no issues at all.

    Others do.

    Some don't work at all.

You need to check with each ISV.

Is that a blanket Yes that there are problems w/all of the 3rd-party apps?  I know that there are issues with Integration Manager.

Not eliminating it, but looking for a cost-effective solution to eliminate Citrix as the way for remote workers w/out laptops to be able to use GP.

I would make sure that your users will be happy with the limitations of the web client. The biggest one is that you can only have one window open at a time. If you want to copy data between two windows, it is very long winded as you need to keep swapping the window.

By the way GP Power Tools is web client compatible (with the exception of functionality that is not supported or does not make sense on the web client). The upcoming build 28 can be used to replace VBA code as VBA is not supported at all on web client.

In terms of the add-ons  the question should be directed to the 3rd party vendor to provide an accurate answer.

SmartList & Integration manager are part of GP.

Are you planning to eliminate the traditional GP client? the web client still have some limitation specially with ISV tools.
