POS search on multiple keywords

Hi,

I have the following scenario. I was able to add attributes to my products and see them in my POS. Now I can search on them BUT lets take the following scenario

Attribute 1 value A -> 500 products

Attribute 2 value B -> 400 products

Let's assume that there are 50 products that have A and B

Now I want to find those 50 products

In the product search I can enter A and then I get my 500 products, If I enter B I get the 400, but how can I search for the products that have A and B.

I tried +, comma, AND,...

I'm trying this in AX2012 R3, but If this is possible in AX7 and not in 2012 then I would also be fine with it.

Or it this not possible, then I find this a big shortage in the POS :)

    Hi Laura,

Are you using ePOS or MPOS?

ePOS has standard search by attributes, but as I know, this search cannot be accessed using POS buttons / POS layout - additional development is needed to make this functionality visible for end user.

Could you, please, share the screenshot of your product search form?

    Regards,

    Oksana

    Hi,

Currently I'm trying it in MPOS. Later we will use this in the Cloud POS of AX7 so that's why I said AX2012 or AX7 don't make a difference. What is ePOS? Is that the cloud pos of AX7?

below a printscreen of the product search operation I'm using

AX7 MPOS leverages Full-Text Search, to be more specific - it uses CONTAINS  in the function [crt].[SEARCHPRODUCTSBYKEYWORD] and some others, so, if let's say we have 2 products with the following titles:

    Boys T-Shirt

    Red Leather Bag

and your search string is: Boys Red

Then both of the products would be found.

Different merchants might have different expectations from the search and since FTS functions (like  CONTAINS, FREETEXT, ...) are customizable you can adjust (if the default behavior shipped out of the box is not what you need) them per your specific requirement by updating the function I mentioned above.

    Hey Sergey,

Thanks for the answer. I got the attributes working on AX7 for a product with variants, they popup when I select the color, but they don't show for standard (non variant products). Any idea why? Without this, I cannot test your answer :)

    standard product:

    2016_2D00_04_2D00_22_5F00_16_2D00_43_2D00_18.jpg

variant product before selecting color (only one dimension to this product):

    2016_2D00_04_2D00_22_5F00_16_2D00_43_2D00_18.jpg

    variant product after selecting color:

    2016_2D00_04_2D00_22_5F00_16_2D00_43_2D00_42.jpg

Offcourse I want to see this last version from the moment I select the product. Because this way the product search on attributes is also not available. On AX2012 it worked but I don't know what I'm doing wrong on AX7 :(

    Hi,

Can I search about the product attribute on epos AX 2012 ?

Your answer is highly appreciated :)

    >... standard (non variant products).  ...

I assume you were talking about Standalone products, if so, I am unable to reproduce on LCS VM the behavior you are describing - I navigated to the product with number 0001 and have seen the values for ItemNumber, Product Name, Features, Specification. Can you open this specific product in your environment and see your experience?

Also, for the product you originally asked about:

    1. can you outline how exactly you setup those attributes?

    2. Is your browser's locale matching the product's attributes' translations?

    3. Please use any tool capable of capturing HTTP traffic (you can use F12 in IE and then select Network and then click green button to start capturing), there will be calls with content type application/json where the URL will contain Commerce/Products/Search and then look into the response's body JSON - will you see your attributes there or not?

    Hi,

I got it working when I put my store and worker back on en-us. When I leave it on en-gb it's not. Then I also get in the catalog that some things are not translated. Only problem is I can't find what. I transalated the attribute type and values, the attiribute, the group.

    Thanks
