MRP - Planned Production Orders Between Different Sites

HI,

i got a situation, where as my Sales order is placed on Site-1, however the family parameter of some sub-SFGs has to be produced in Site-2, but MRP always creates the Planned Productions orders of these SFG in Site-1 (Which is sales Site). i also had set up my Production items (BOM, ROUTE, and Mandatory Inventory Site-2) my coverage group for these SFGs are PRODUCTION.

Actually i m looking for MRP to Create the Production Orders for SFGs in Site-2 and then create the Transfer order of the same to meet the Demand Site-1. kindly let me know what settings i need to apply to these item in order to get this result.

Thanks in Advance

    Hi Jessy,

From the Item details form, you can setup 'Item coverage' for each item.

In the Item coverage form, you'll need one record for Site-1. You should set the Planned order type to 'Transfer', and set the relevant warehouse in Site-2 as the 'Main warehouse'.

Then create another Item coverage record for 'Site-2'. Set the Planned order type to 'Production'.

On your 'demand' (i.e. your sales orders) you'll need to set 'Site-1'.

In AX 2009, it's 'Item details' -> Setup (button, on the right) -> Item coverage
