Cannot install Dynamics NAV Server

Hello

I am trying to install Microsft Dynamics NAV 2016.

I installed every component but the server where there is a problem because initially I I got this error when I tried to install server :

"  The service 'Microsoft Dynamics NAV Server [DynamicsNAV90]' (MicrosoftDynamicsNavServer$DynamicsNAV90) failed to start. This can be caused by one of several issues. For example, the password for the account that runs the service may be incorrect, or there could be a conflict in port sharing for the port settings for the service, or you have specified that the port for the server should be opened in the Windows firewall even though the Windows firewall is not enabled on the computer. For more information, see the event viewer.  "

I ried turning on Windows features  from control panel ... .

I installed all the components but the server so obviously when I run Dynamcis NAV 2016 it says that there is problem connecting to nav server.

When I open Microsoft Dynamcis server.msc it says " The dynamics NAV server is not installed on this computer ... "

Is there a way to solve the server installing problem  ?

I have Windows  10 home

    Hi Xavim,

As per the documentation provided by Microsoft, in order to install NAV Server, you need to have Windows 10 Pro, Enterprise, or Education (64-bit edition).

    Please check the documentation: msdn.microsoft.com/.../dd301054(v=nav.90).aspx

Check how to upgrade from Home to Pro: support.microsoft.com/.../windows-10-upgrading-home-to-pro

    Hope it helps.

    Hi Xavim,

At first I will suggest you to go with the needed system requirements for NAV 2016

    totovic.com/.../nav-2016-system-requirements

Now coming to your error as mentioned above, you need to check these points.

1.You have configured your service tier with a credential as user and you have given a username and password. Please do cross verify the password is correct.

    2. The Port that you are trying to use for this Instance is getting conflicted with some other ports that too you need to cross verify once.

    3. Whats the status of your firewall, The firewall too might be the cause.

I will too recommend you to see the event viewer once as it will have a bit more detailed description of the Issue and it may give you more clues.

Hello, thank you all for your replies

I solved this problem by changing the service account while installing :

I used the computer name / account session name (of windows)  (DESKTOP-7B...\wass...)

It's important to write the session password just below

before that I used gpedit.msc (local strategies) to open session as a service.

Then I installed the service :)
