We updated the server and all of the computers to the newest version of GP 18.5.1596 with no proble. When we tried to update the last computer, we received this message:
"You are using an earlier version of Dynamics.dic than the one that's currently installed on the network"
Why is this only happening on one computer?
You are right. I re-ran the update and everything worked fine. Thank you for the assistance.
>> Database 18.5.1596 Code 18.4.1384."
This means that your databases are showing a version of GP at 18.5.1596 but your code, specifically the Dynamics.dic file, is still showing 18.4.1384.
Along with what has been stated here, you can try re-applying the 18.5.1596 patch onto this machine's GP install and see if it then begins showing as 18.5.1596 also.
Otherwise, you can try renaming the Dynamics.dic file, then in Control Panel, run Repair against GP which should re-create that file, hopefully at the 18.5.1596 version.
If neither works, you'll probably need to uninstall and reinstall GP at the 18.5.1596 version on this machine.
Copying GP directory files sometimes work, but in most cases, it doesn't align with what is written in the Windows Registry of that machine, so has the same issues.
Thanks
Product 0 is DYNAMICS. I am not sure why this one workstation is giving you this. You can try one of two things:
1) Delete the GP program folder on this workstation and copy a GP program folder from a working computer.
2) Delete the GP program folder on this workstation and go into Programs and Features and run Repair on GP.
Thank you for continuing to answer.
There are no additional installed products.
The first line in the duinstall.log shows this:
"Failure encountered ON 1/2/2023 at 1:55:02 PM. Error: You are attempting to configure an older version of product 0. Database 18.5.1596 Code 18.4.1384."
Check the DYNAMICS.SET file on the workstation for additional installed products. Also, look for the duinstall.log file for the product(s) with the mismatches. This will be in your GP data subfolder.
You have product version mismatches. From what version of GP are you starting?
That seems like it got GP Utilities started, but now we get this message:
There was a problem ascertaining product version information. Microsoft Dynamics GP Utilities will now exit. Please check the duinstall.log file for more information.
When you launch GP Utilities right click and select Run as Administrator. It sounds like security is preventing check files from being included.
