Form 'simply' not saving

Hi dear reader,
Today I found an annoying but interesting issue. We have this custom entity called Person in which (tadataaaah) we record some personal data.
I have no idea when this started, don't use this entity a lot, but as of today it won't save changes. I change a simple text field and see the "unsaved changes" light up in the lower right corner.

But when I press the save button, just nothing at all happens! For pinpointing purposes I deactivated both Business Rules and the small part of javascript. There's a handfull of workflows but they're all asynchronous. Rebooted the entire system (twice by now).
Still the form won't save. No error message, no nothing.

Any thoughts?

    Hi Jeroen J,

    If you have already tried deactivating all business rules and Javascript registered on the page, a few more things you can check is: Developer Tools Console window of your browser as you might spot any errors there - Confirm all required fields are filled - Test with a different browser - Create a copy of the form and remove any controls that might contains scripts to confirm they are not creating any conflict. These can be a good start.
