Hi All
We use Dynamics Sales online (Latest version).
We use various workflows that can create and send email on the opportunity entity. The email is being sent from an owning user to an owning user (so not a contact or account). in the email the opportunity is the 'regarding' record.
But these emails are showing up in the timeline of the account that is related to the opportunity too...
I can't figure out why and how to prevent this from happening as it is cluttering up the timeline of the account.
Thank you in advance for your help!
Hi Erik,
The Account and Opportunity have three 1:N relationship, the key is 'Potential Customer' , which type of behavior is 'Parental', so activities of child opportunities can be shown in the timeline of parent account.
The Potential Customer field is not visible in the form by default, but it can be populated with value from 'Account' lookup field.
If you don't want to activities of child opportunities in the timeline of parent account, you need make sure the 'Account' lookup field is null.
You can create a new 1:N relationship between account and opportunity, and use new lookup field in the form.
Note: Make sure the 'Rollup View' is 'Cascade None', which can restrict child record's activities appear in the parent records.
