view Prepayment information in Sales order

I would like to make a prepayment for a sales order, I have followed the process but it is not possible to view Prepayment information in Sales order, the button is greyed out. So can some one tell me how I can enable this button. This is an example I found on the internet. I have no access to the prepayment button in the Tab Sell (sales orders).

Hi Esther,

prepayment button is enabled for open sales orders. After you post ınvoice, it becomes greyed out.

it still doesn't work and if this is the case, I do not want to ship the items or invoice the items before the Customer paid a prepayment amount. So I do want to make sure that I received the prepayment BEFORE I pick the items in the warehouse, this is what I want to achieve.

can you please share your sales order status? order type, status, and release status

The release status is open, the prepayment is posted and also visible if you look at the transactions of the customer.

In some environments it is still working (standard functionality), could it have been effected by a newer release?

HI,

As mentioned below by Ludwig, this works by design. We do not have immediate plans to add prepayment functionality into AR as this would be a design change/feature to be added.
