Hi,

I have set up the AI Business Card control in Dynamics 365 for Sales but keep getting an error message when scanning a card

Something happened. Try again later.

Have anyone else come across this?

The only thing I can think of, is that my environment is UNITED KINGDOM, not Europe or US.
If this is the reason for the control not working, then were can I find out when it will be available for my region?

Hi,

I think you are correct. As per the documentation, this feature is only available in US & EU.

You can however try Dynamics 365 Sales app fuder US region to try this functionality.

Hi, I thought so.

It's a shame you can't find out when it will be available in your area.

As I understand it you can't just change the region of your Dynamics 365 instance.

By the look of it I just have to hope it comes to the UK region fairly soon. It looks like the best option for business cards at the moment.

Hi,

One addition, I believe you need to purchase AI builder Addon package to use the business card reader in the Production instance, which will cost you $500 per month. Just wanted to inform in case if you haven't checked the pricing. the business card reader is free but it needs AI builder subscription in the backend.

Hi,

Yes, I saw that last week when I was trying to build something with PowerApps, so we ended up getting the addon for AI.

Still would like to know when they will make the business card reader available for the UK region.

I was able to resolve this. As an Administrator I could scan Business Cards but as a Salesperson I received the error Something happened. Try again later.

Under the Security Role: Sales Person > Custom Entity play with the AI security settings. This resolved my issue but I could not find any documentation on thees settings.

Hi,

If you need to do a testing on Business Card reader. I would suggest to create an environment with country selected as EU or USA.

Or let me know I will help you to do.

It just got released for my region (UK), so it's all good :-)

I have done some testing and so far it's looking pretty good.
