We now have a client where for most of their workstations when they are setting up email and click the Message Setup Window, the window refuses to appear. I have them checking which version of .Net is installed. For two of their workstations this window does appear.

Sounds like you found your answer:  The system must be set to MAPI and the 64-bit Outlook users need it set to Exchange.

This is some 32 bit vs 64 bit issue. Those running Office 32 bit are fine and those running 64 bit are not.

Using the Security Profiler on GP Power Tools will show if the window is actually opening and if there is a security error. If there is a problem with Security, you can use the Security Information window to identify the solution.

It will also prevent the window from opening off screen, as this is also a feature of GP Power Tools.

If you don't have it installed yet, install it and activate the free 30 day trial.

If the client is using Exchange emailing in GP, are they prompted for their Exchange/email credentials when they first open this window, if they haven't already entered those credentials previously in the current GP user session?

If so, does the window just never appear or is it maybe showing in the user's taskbar, but not present on their screen?  I.e. we sometimes see where users with dual-monitor will open Dynamics GP, open the window and move it over to the 2nd monitor, then close the window or Dynamics GP at that point.  Then, when another user that has only one monitor opens Dynamics GP from the same install, attempts to open that same window, they don't see it appear, but it sometimes shows in their taskbar.....

Otherwise, I guess I haven't seen the window just not appear, without some type of permissions error.

    Thanks
