Warehouse shipment Qty not editable (partial shipment)

Hi
Why is the quantity on a warehouse shipment not editable for partial shipments?
Customer is set up ok for shipment advice = partial

Location card seems fine as well...

On Sales & Receivable setup, default qty to ship set to Remainder

The pick qty does default to the available qty when it is created rather than the requested qty. e.g. 550 requested but only 500 available; hence the pick creates for 500 automatically. The pick is subsequently registered but there seems no way the quantity on the warehouse shipment can now be edited (after reopening it). We want to close the warehouse shipment and then the sales order down to the shipped qty.
I wonder if there is some problem with the Qty to ship being 0; hence why I included the sales & receivable set up for default qty to ship.
I have the same question (0)

As mentioned you would typically change the Qty. to Ship, and not the Quantity field in the shipment.

This is standard behavior, you can only edit the quantity in Qty. to Ship in table 7321 "Warehouse Shipment Line".

    Thanks.

The warehouse shipment quantity comes from your sales order. It does make sense that you are not allowed to modify the quantity.
if you no longer need the warehouse shipment, you can delete it. there is no need to change quantity.
