Hi All, am experiencing difficulty in connecting to nav server 2009 from my clients. All networks are working perfectly,. The server is also visible to the client and vice versa, but when I try connecting to the server , it gives me this error, 'THERE WAS A TIME-OUT IN ATTEMPT TO ESTABLISH A CONNECTION WITH THE SERVER(TCP/IP ERROR ETIMEDOUT). Waiting for your valuable replies. Thank you. KR, Felix

have you pointed your dns to the server ip?

if you ping the server name does it reply back with internal ip ?

Thanks for ur contribution. It actually replies back to internal IP, but the problem is that when you try connecting to the server from the same client, it will time out....................

    Hi,

Please check firewall may be it blocking port used for database. Check firewall setting.

As we can connect any remote database though Navision.

    Hello,

You need to check couple of things like:
    1) Dynamics -> Open Database -> Advanced Tab
     - Check for the Net Type, should be default.

    2) Check "Running" - State of SQL Server Services
     - Open SQL Server Configuration Manager
     - SQL Server Services

    3) Enable TCP/IP
     - Open SQL Server Configuration Manager
     - SQL Server Network Configuration

    4) Specify Server name in Dynamics open db instead of ip address

     Hope it resolves your query.
