Creating a Communication area within D365 Marketing

Hi,

Is it possible to create an Entity within the Marketing 365 application so all that is in there are names of employees who are within the organisation.  This will be fed by Azure (AD).

Currently the Customer area as Entities for Account, Contacts, Segments and Subscription List

Our Communication team want to utilise the marketing aspect to get analytical information on who and what is opened when they send out an internal newsletter.

Obviously this will need to be kept separate Accounts / contacts and can only be accessed by certain personnel.

Or would it be simpler to create a separate app and apply the Marketing license to that?

I have the same question (0)

    Hi Chris1968,

In Dynamics, only those entities are supported with Insights tab:

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/marketing/insights

But if you want to use the custom entity in the marketing email, you need use the Dataset configuration settings.

The Dataset configuration settings allow you to choose which entities to make available for use in dynamic email content.

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/marketing/mkt-settings-sync

Once the dataset is published, the checked tables will be synced and available to use within the Marketing App in three locations.

    1. Segmentation
    2. Email Dynamic Data
    3. Lead Score

    Hi Chris1968,

Go to Marketing app, switch to Settings area in the sitemap:

Navigate to Settings overview, you can see Dataset Configuration under Data management

    Hi Leah Ju,

Thank you for pointing me in the right direction as to the settings...

I'm currently in conversation with Microsoft about our Environments and getting them synced and installing a full version of marketing on to the UAT environment.

I created a new entity 'Veterans' on the UAT environment but this does not have the full version of marketing for me to test the functionality

I wanted to create this is our Dev environment but having more issues as this is a non managed solution and still new as recently taking over from our previous admin to this.

It seems our environments need a lot of working on, hence the involvement of Microsoft

Dev as more options from the setting screen then the UAT environment currently as
