Hi All,

Can anyone please tell me is it necessary to import all Microsoft AOD files (SYS and SYP layers) into Dynamics AX baseline database? What If I don't import these MS AOD files and start with importing the customized AOD files (USR and VAR layers)?

If you didn't do that, AX wouldn't be able to detect code conflicts, because it wouldn't know what code has changed between the two versions of AX.

What method do you use for creating the baseline during the upgrade? If you use the installer AX creates a baseline DB for you.

Martin is quite right. The old layers are not purely nessecary but I allways like to keep the old code stack handy when upgrading old customisation.

I used the AX installation to create a baseline DB.

From your comment "The old layers are not purely neccessary" it seems that it is not MUST to import SYS and SYP layers but it is good to have them to find code conflicts.
