AX4 on Citrix

We are busy deploying AX4 on Citrix PS4.5 and for some reason the AX client is very sluggish in the Citrix session. All other published appplications are really fast yet the refresh on the AX session is slow. Queries to the Database are fast and there is little activity on the AOS and running AX from the Citrix Terminal is also fast so this performance issue appears to be caused by the AX client when in a Citrix Session.

Has anybody else experianced this issue? or can point me in the right direction to resolve it?

    Hi

do you have tracing turned on by any chance??

    • Check the server and client configuration utility - turn off all tracing options
    • check the users options (tools -> options) ... make sure all tracing options are turned off on the Developer and SQL tab..
    • is there a antivirus running on the server?? it might not be a bad idea to turn off the antivirus on the 3 main server, i.e. citrix server, AOS server, db server (and the appl file server if not on the aos).
    • did you install SP2 on all ax components??

try these options out... and let us know what results you get.

    regards,

    Mohammed Rasheed

We are currently supporting AX 4.0 SP1 through Citrix without any problems.  Our servers are in Houston and we support thee other United States locations and one Mexico location.  If you are talking about the starting of Dynamics AX, it is likely that it is starting slow becuase of printer mapping.  We had a slow start until we configured printer mapping to occur based on rules, which were based on active directory groups.
