I have a vendor that has provided me with a new W-9 indicating a change in their business name. If I create a new vendor record under the new name, can I combine the new record with the old record with the previous name?

Hi ARAP,
There is a workaround here. On the Global address book, you can set relation between parties. You can't directly link the vendor records, but you can use the relations.
It is also possible to rename the current vendor. On the global address book record, you can review the history of the names.

Do you need to keep the historical transactions of this vendor and do you still have open transactions that need settlement and payment?
If this is the case then changing the name only - as suggested by Andre - is the better option in my opinion because if you create a new vendor then they will not automatically linked to each other when it comes to account statements, payments, etc.
