Changing service tier credential type

My BC 14.0 install is using windows and I need to change it to get the Excel add-in working as it does not apparently support Windows authentication. If I change the service tier to anything other than windows it fails to start with no really useful error or event log. I seem to recall there might have been a script to make this change as there are probably other places that need to be changed. Can anyone help me on this?

    Found the issue...

In order to use any other Credential Type, other than Windows, a certificate is required and its thumbprint information must be entered in the Business Central Administration Console!!!

check if the service user, set in the windows service settings, has the right to login as a service.

    follow docs.microsoft.com/.../how-to-configure-security-policy-settings
