AX2012 R3 WHS Picking Marked Inventory

Hi All!

I am working on our AX2012 R3 WHS implementation and need to know if there is a way for the reservation and picking system to find Marked inventory lots in the warehouse?  We often reference production orders together, and would like to find the marked inventory lot when releasing the parent production for picking.

Can this be done?

Thanks,

LJ

Thanks for the reply, Crispin.  Moving the lots into a specific location is the process I am trying to eliminate.  Our goal is to have the warehouse treat all of the goods the same, and get the WHS system to figure out where the marked inventory is.

    I'll keep trying.

You can try location directive with Reference number !"" as a criteria.

Thanks Oleksandr, I will give that a try.  I am guessing that you are suggesting that I use the InventTrans reference number.

    Hi lispyj,

Can you explain marked inventory lots and how its handled in your business.

Marking is the system that Dynamics uses to tie specific supply and demand transactions together.  We use marking in several ways.  We mark specific production orders to Sales Lines for some configured items.  Direct Deliveries are also marked together.

When we create production orders for certain items, at the time the top level bom is exploded into pegged supply lines, the child production orders are automatically marked to the parent.  I would like to pick these, specific units, when doing picking for the parent production.

    Hi Crispin John Augustine,

I believe we should have a different batch for every production order to be marked against, so that marking is also upon batch and the link is guaranteed under any circomstance.

    do you agree?

    ciao,

    Damiano
