Duplicated Orders

Hi all,

I'm having a serious problem with my orders, almost always when someone creates a order from quote it ends up creating two records, so my sales team is always reporting me of the duplicated records.

there is a duplicate detection rule, that pops up when they save changes in the records warning about the duplicate, but it does not solve a thing, what are the options for me?

create a job to delete these duplicated records, or there is another "less dangerous" way out?

    Hi jaol, what version of crm are you on, as some one else reported duplicate records being created but that was crm 2013.

    Hi Jaol,

    I was testing in recent CRM 2016 org, I created order out of Quote, again I go back to the

    inactive Quote and again able to create a another order. Looks like we may create multiple order from same quote with same name just the order ID is different. I suspect users might have done the same or clicked "Create order " multiple times. Else, you may check if you have any workflow/plugin running to create orders. When you see duplicate orders getting created, check for the "created on" time and simultaneously go to the System Jobs and see what has triggered to the create of duplicate orders. Also you may create a "duplicate detection rule" on order for 'Name' field to avoid duplication.

    Hi Deepika,

    I think that you should trace the root cause why CRM system create 2 order?

    To do that, I suggest you should check all Workflows and plugins that relate to the Order & Quote, sometime we developed plugin and work flow for the same purpose, and it is the reason take to duplicate record.

    First, you should check all workflows and plugin, then, we also check the condition, if all workflows and plugins are ok, next step, you need check all custom scripts.

    hi all,

    thanks for the responses.

    I checked all my workflows, and none creates a order, I'm suspecting the the users are 'double-clicking' the create order button but  I'm still testing this possibility.

    by the way, i'm using crm 2016 online.

    Yes I agree with Deepika that double clicking is the most likely cause, did you manage to check the created on date of the duplicate orders to check the difference?

    Hi,

    if it is "same date and time or with insignificant differences" for quotes,

    you might have a plugin or workflow  running to create.

    Please make sure this one, cannot avoid the possibility of the double clicking the button well.

    the "same date and time" is from orders created, the duplicated records are being created at the same time.
