We need to record EIN (federal tax ID) numbers for our accounts, in order to facilitate shipping. So I have some questions:

Is there an existing field in Dynamics for this that I have just not seen and should be using?
If I need to create a new field for use in Accounts, is there any special things I should be aware of for this, like security?
From Wikepedia, an "Employer Identification Number (EIN) is a nine-digit number that IRS assigns in the following format: XX-XXXXXXX." What field formatting would cover this?

Hello,

I don't remember seeing such field OOB so potentially you can create it. In order to format the phone you can use following control - docs.microsoft.com/.../additional-controls-for-dynamics-365-for-phones-and-tablets

Usually, when you apply for ein number, you get all the answers to your information.

Usually, when you apply for ein number, you get all the answers to your information. Of course, there might be some misunderstandings, but the company you work with should be ready to help you with all the information you need. Regarding the number itself, before assuming any information about it, try to contact s platform that can help you. It's better to wait for two to three weeks to get that information than just to insert a piece of information that might be not true. I hope you'll find all the information you need and good luck!

You can store EIN number in the Registration IDs form. In the Customers form, click Customers > Registration IDs in the action menu.

In the Registration IDs page, scroll down to the "Registration ID" section - see below.
