Weird prompt when importing Packages in RapidStart

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi everyone,

I'm working on Data Migration with RapidStart. When I imported a package in the new company, there was a prompt saying: "The table you are trying to rename is linked to a package, do you want to remove the link?".

The options were Yes and No.

Can anybody tell me what this means? And what would happen if I clicked Yes or No?

Thanks.

Leon.

I exported the Config. Line table to Excel. It does seem that for some strange reason, the Table ID of the line Group - Insurance Master Data was changed from 0 to 5628, which is the Table ID of the table Insurance. I don't know why this happened but it seems like it's the one causing the issue.

    Hi Renato,

This is my original worksheet. I have two packages I want to export: INS_1_PRE and INS_2_INS

The new company that I am going to import to is a completely blank, brand new company, so it has no data in it, therefore it has no package in it.

    1) This is what it looks like when I'm importing the first package - both the package and the worksheet looks completely fine.

    2) This is what it looks like when I import the next package:

    The prompt appeared

When I clicked No, only the Dimension Value table appeared in the worksheet (I lost my Insurance and Dimension table, and the line Insurance with the Line Type: Group)

When I pressed Yes, I lost my Dimension and Dimension Value tables, I also lost the line Insurance with the Line Type: Group. Only the table Insurance appeared in the worksheet.

    Let's do step backward.

    1. Do you have any tables in configuration worksheet in new company?

    2. Can you send me printscreen of configuration package which you exported from old company?

    3. Do you have same (same name) configuration package in new company and in old company but with different tables in it?

    Br,

    Renato.

    Hi Renato,

When I clicked either Yes or No, I lost tables in the worksheet.

    For example:

I have the package Fixed Assets, which has Fixed Assets, Dimension and Dimension Value.

When I imported the table Fixed Assets in the new Company, the prompt appeared, saying: "The table you are trying to rename is linked to a package record. Do you want to remove the link?"

If I press Yes, in the worksheet, I only see table 349 Dimension Value.

If I press No, in the worksheet, I also only see table 349 Dimension Value.

Table 5600 Fixed Assets and table 348 Dimension just magically disappeared :/

How do I stop it from giving me the prompt? Is there certain fields or option I have to select in the orignial company so that when export the package and import it to the new company, it won't give me the prompt?

    Thanks,

    Leon.

    Hi,

this message appears when records in table 8622 Config. Line is edited. In table config line we have entries for configuration worksheet and and if you export your configuration package with one set of entries in that table (config line) and after that you create new entries in configuration worksheet in that new company, and after that you try to import configuration package from old companies, and apply that package, NAV will automatically try to change records in config. line table.

If you click Yes, NAV will change records in Config Line table, if you click No, NAV will update values, but TABLE ID field will be the same.

    old_5F00_rss.png - original worksheet

old_5F00_rss.png - exported package with changed values in config.line

if_5F00_I_5F00_click_5F00_no.png - what will happen if I click no on message.

    Br,

    Renato.

Hi Alexander, the package was exported, and I just imported it to the new company. There were no duplicate tables in my package and I think NAV 2016 stops you from assigning duplicate tables so I don't think that's the case.

Can you check that you do not have duplicate tables in your package?
