I started with a new company a few months ago and there is no documentation on processing 1099s in Dynamics and the person who previously processed is no longer with the company. Would anyone be willing to send me their documentation on 1099 processing or a link that might help? I have spent a lot of time googling and searching and it's hard to find much documentation on this process. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
The AP User Guide PDF should have the info you need. It explains how SL tracks 1099 eligible payments for annual reporting to the IRS.
1099 reporting requirements from the IRS changed last year. Only SL2018 year-end updates containing the required reporting changes were released by Microsoft last year, the same will be the case for this tax year. Microsoft makes year-end updates for any 1099 or W2 reporting requirement changes available usually in December, waiting for the IRS to publish any final reporting changes.
If you don't have SL2018, there are 3rd party reporting services that sell a typically inexpensive program ($100 - $200) to handle printing and IRS uploads for entities required to e-file returns. Some places also offer these services on a per-return basis, including printing and mailing. They normally have an import function, you can export the required data from SL to import into another program.
Very much appreciated, thank you!
