Hey all,

I'm seeking ideas for a short-term internship project (4 months max) that integrates AI with Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations (D365FO).

Any suggestions for impactful projects like AI-driven inventory optimization or intelligent forecasting models would be greatly appreciated.

Do you need to create a new feature or do you need to setup a demo of something that Microsoft brings to the product? If the latter, you can check the last investments on Demand Planning.

I have two ideas, maybe can help you:

Customer churn prediction: Implement an AI-driven model that analyzes customer behavior, transaction history, and credit limits to predict customer churn, these factors are used to assess the risk of a customer or transaction. This can help you identify risky customers ahead of time and avoid risk.
Smart invoice processing: Add AI to make invoice recognition more accurate. The current technology may still have errors for invoice recognition, you can use AI to verify the accuracy of the data, and intelligent learning of the user's habits to deal with more scenarios. Although the current features also support AI learning to improve the accuracy of invoice recognition, the use cases are very limited, and the effect of improvement is not very good. You can try to improve this feature.

You can build a custom MCP Server to handle specific tasks. It can simplify reporting (SSRS) document, enhance workflow capabilities, fix pain areas in Purchase Orders and Sales Orders, and even improve processes in the HR module.
