Use a group control and set its FrameOptionButton property to Hide.

    Hello Martin,

From msdn, what I understood was that is that the FrameOptionButton property, if for example, set to Check, then setting the OptionValue property to 1 selects the check box when the form is opened.

So in that case, if the FrameOptionButton property is set to Hide, setting the OptionValue property to 0 should collapse and 1 should expand.
So when OptionValue set to 0, it should only HIDE the fields within that Group Control, and NOT "disable" them. Right?

Raghu: Sorry, I didn't get your point. If there is no control (because it's hidden), it doesn't makes sense to discuss whether the (non-existing) control it's enabled or disabled, does it? Also, is it related to the question of this thread (What is this + symbol in Ax 2012 forms?)? If not, let's create a new thread for your question.

Mahesh, if your question is answered, please verify the answer. It will also make clear that this thread is closed. If it's not answered, please explain what else you need.

    Martin,

From what I see happening in AX here, The Group Control is NOT hidden when the FrameOptionButton is set to Hide.  The Visible or Enabled property of the control might decide whether the control, as a whole, should appear on the form or not.

So the control still appears. Its just that if the OptionValue being 0 or 1 decides whether the group control is expanded (-) or  collapsed (+).

I do not have any open question though. Thanks for your response.

    Raghu.

Of course it's not hidden. You probably didn't notice what this thread was about ("What is this + symbol in Ax 2012 forms?").
