Search Server 2010 returns no result

Hi,

I am setting up a new installation of AX2012. I have follow the installation guide and setup Enterprise Search. The content sources and data crawling were fine. In System status I can see Searchable items has a value of 4,211. However, when I look at Scopes both "All Sites" and "ClientSearch" have 0 items.

When I try to do search on AX client or EP, I always get "No results found" message.

Also, when I look at EventViewer on Search server, I see warning/information regarding "Unable to log on to Microsoft Dynamics AX". (See below)

Any advice on what to look at / try. Thanks.

RE: Search Server 2010 returns no result

My question is the search results were shown in client program, but not in entprise portal. For example, if I search "contoso" in client program, i get the customer "contoso", but there is no any result if i search "contoso" on enterprise site (including sales sub-site).

Is the search result security trimmed somehow? Does the service account need additional access to Active Directory in order to present only the content the end user is allowed to see? I remember having to do some additional steps when setting up Enterprise Search on SharePoint 2010.

Checked, the proxy account is already db_owner for those Search_* databases.

Still at the same spot but thanks! :)

Check whether your Business Connector Proxy service account has access to those Search_*-databases. The other way around (Search Crawler service account's access to the AOS) should be fine if the indexes are built.

You can also check if the service is available by pasting the "Help service URL" (System administration / Setup / System) to your browser. But I think this should be fine already because as far as I remember you'd get an error if it wasn't working.
