Employee information not populating when employee ID typed in but appears in search

We have entered in the information for a new hire into the employee maintenance screen (cards-payroll-employee) and given the employee a unique alphanumeric employee ID. When I type in the employee ID, no information populates in the employee maintenance screen (see screenshot 1). However, when I search for the employee, they show up in the listing (see screenshot 2). Then when I click on the name to bring up the employee card, everything populates as it should. They do not show up in any smart lists as if they are only saved on the front screen and not on the back end? Please help if you know what is causing this.

Hi Ashley,

The screenshot is not a screenshot from Dynamics 365 Human Resources. Are you using Dynamics GP?
