Fixed assets - difference between current, operations and tax posting layers?

Hi all,

can someone explain me please, what is the difference between current, operations and tax posting layers(fixed assets module)?

If possible with examples.

I read through MS docs and understood the concept, but i still don't understand in what case i should use what posting layer..
