How do i update multiple contact with information?

Hello!

I got some problems when i want to update the VAT number on Accounts. It gets errors and says i cant update records because of duplicates. The accounts don´t have VAT number, so i dont get why its not updating the empty field. I would really appreciate if anyone could help and give me some tips!

Is there any other ways to update fields on multiple records?
