functional Training - finance exam suggestions?

(0) ShareShare

Good Afternoon all,

I have been working with Dynamics AX 2009 for around 7 years, mainly on the technical support side with some functional support experience. I would like to move more towards the functional support / consultancy side in the near future, inparticular the finance module as this seems to be very popular and a sort after skill.

With this in mind i have been looking at which functional finance exams to start studying for, but i have read that the "microsoft dynamics ax financials" exam is expiring soon :(

I got this info from:

www.microsoft.com/.../retired-certification-exams.aspx

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/learning/exam-mb6-893.aspx

Does anyone know which exam is replacing this? or have any suggestions on the study path I should take?

Many thanks

Dave Rodgers

AX 2012 exams are being retired including the old MB6-893. Financials exam should be available for Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations, Enterprise edition, and I believe is the one which you have linked. At least the 3 new titles for various certification groups link to that, and financials belongs to MCSE certifications path:

    www.microsoft.com/.../mcse-business-applications.aspx

As you can see an MCSA certification is a pre-requisite (either configuration/engagement, or development tracks), so you might have to focus on that one first.

Please check with a certificate center whether the exam is for the old or the new version just to clarify.

    Hi vilmos,

yes it seems the new certifications in 365 are the only routes available so I will start with the MCSA cert, which consists of two exams and them move on to the MCSE which includes the different AX modules.

    thanks for confirming

    Dave
