Dynamics CRM Background Workflow stuck on "Waiting For Resources" after Update from 9.0 to 9.1 on-Premise

Hi everyone,

we recently installed an upgrade from 9.0 to 9.1 (9.1.1.914).

After some tests we found a problem with the Async Service. The Async Service is available and running, but after running some Async Workflow such as Bulk Delete, Data Import or Background Workflow, the status gets stuck on "Waiting For Resources".

The following was checked:

1. Deleted millions of failed jobs over the past years in the SQL table "AsyncOperationBase" and reduced to a few thousand.

2. Set up a separate service account for each CRM service.

Can you please tell me where I can find the source of this problem?

Thanks in advance!

BR,

selak

    Hi selak,

    Please try below things:

    1. RESET THE IIS SERVER

    2. RESET THE CRM SERVICES.

If still facing same issue then please try the below solution:

Just updated to 9.1.2 on premise - also having similar issue.

We were on 8.2 and would routinely queue up 3000 workflows at once without having them get stuck , whereas now the workflows stall out in "waiting for resources" after what seems like 500 or less. We have also purged the Async Operation base table - no luck .

going to update to latest patches to see if any fixes.

Also the installing the newest patch und repairing the CRM didn't help.

These steps were successful for me:

    1. Preparing new servers for CRM and SQL DB

    2. Installing CRM on these brand new servers

    3. Migrating CRM Database (MSCRM_CONFIG) to the old SQL Cluster

    4. Change the connections in Registry and in MSCRM_CONFIG

    5. Import Organization Databases in CRM via Deployment Manager
