How to modify print management destination settings for invoices for all customers?

Hello,

We are running AX 2012 R2.

During our invoice process, invoices are sent out to most customers via email (the destination for the Original copy of the invoice), and we print a copy for ourselves.  These settings are set up on each customer individually, rather than by using the Print Management settings for the AR module itself.

I've recently installed a new print server in our environment.  I'd like to transition the AR rep's printers to the new print server, but if I do that, she will have to touch hundreds (perhaps over a thousand) of customer records to update the Destination setting for their invoices to reflect the new printer object.

Is there a way to do this en masse, perhaps via SQL?  I tried looking at the Print management setup form for a customer to see if I could determine the table/cell that is being used to record the printer setup for each customer, but I'm not seeing what I need.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Scott

    Hi Scott,

The print settings are stored in a container field. This is not readable data but should be unpacked by using xpp logic. So, a developer would be able to write a scripts for this to automate the required changes.

    Thanks Andre.

Does this sound like a very intensive project to you?  We don't have a developer on staff, so I'll have to outsource it.  I'm hoping to have an idea of the cost before presenting options to my boss.

    I appreciate your help!

    Hi Scott,

I haven't looked into the technical details, so can not give you an estimate. I'm only a bit aware how the print settings are stored.
