Exporting temp tables to excel in AX2012

Hello, I am having some troubles trying to export data from a form that uses a temporary table as a datasource, and am wondering if anyone might be able to provide some clarification. The form in question is the Item Requirements form. All tabs/grids will export to excel, except for the Period grid. 'Export to Excel' is greyed out in options only for this grid, and Ctrl+T does nothing. The only difference seems to be that its a temp (in memory) table. I tested creating a few temp tables (both in memory and tempDB) and a form, and found the same issue. Any tabs I added using a regular table as a datasource could export, but not the ones using a temp table of either type. Curiously I did test the 'Create new Entity' wizard under data management, and the 'add fields' page, which uses a temporary table, was exportable.

Is this a system level restriction, or am I just missing some obvious parameter on the table or form needed to make the export work? The ms docs on temp tables and the export functionality don't list this as a limitation. I know the D365 docs explicitly state that exporting from a temp table is possible, but maybe its not the case in AX2012?
