Dealing with duplicates

Hi all,

I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong or if this is just normal behavior for CRM when dealing with duplicate leads. I'm pretty sure I have the rules configured correctly. But when I'm creating a new duplicate lead I'm getting the Duplicates Detected screen containing a list of potential duplicates which I'm very happy with. But then when I qualify a lead that already exists as a duplicate contact, I'm just getting the Warning popup. Is it possible to get the Duplicate Detected instead when you qualify a lead?

    Dealing with duplicates
    Hi,

Yes, it is possible to detect duplicates when you qualify a lead. DeDupeD, a duplicate data hygiene solution for Dynamics 365 CRM by Inogic, it can help you detect, prevent, and merge duplicate leads, contacts, accounts, or any other Dynamics 365 CRM Records.
You can configure the duplicate detection rules within the app to detect duplicates based on the criteria of lead qualification. This way, you can detect duplicates when you qualify a lead.
DeDupeD can also enable users to clean up historical duplicate records in bulk within Dynamics 365 CRM. Users can run a comprehensive duplicate merge process that identifies and merges multiple duplicate records based on set criteria. This ensures a clean and accurate data environment, and it makes cleaning up a large number of duplicate records hassle-free, as it saves users from the cumbersome task of going to each record and identifying duplicates.
This way, the DeDupeD app can help you deal with duplicates like a pro!
Download your free 15-day trial from the Inogic website or Microsoft AppSource to get started!

    Thanks!

I'm afraid that only Microsoftees know exact answer. The difference between creation of contact and qualification of a lead is the source from which data for new contact is taken - from contact form or from existing lead so technically process is the same.

Hi Andrii, do you know if there's a reason for that? The way I see it is when you qualify a Lead you create a brand new Contact so isn't this(in a way) the same scenario as when you create the record?
