Dear All,

I have done the configuration of the dynamics webclient and have tested it on the server and it works. However, I been trying to connect the dynamics via the webclient on a difference computer and it is not going through. I have used the following url: http://servername:8080/DynamicsNAV90/webclient

http://i.p address:8080/DynamicsNAV90/webclient.

What am I missing. Your feedback will be appreciated.

Check Firewall settings on Server and client. Also antivirus settings. Check windows eventlog for detailled error messages.

Is the different computer is in same domain or connected to that domain using VPN and all.

Check the firewall settings , check if the same user added in domain or try to add to ip of server in host file and then check

What configuration have you done or followed ?

1. Check if port 8080 is open (Don't assume its open).

2. How do you connect your another computer ( LAN / Wifi).

3. Are you using external firewall, if yes then have you allowed port 8080 through.

4. Are you able to ping the server ?

Hello Richard!

Find Microsoft Dynamics NAV Web service and check it out. It should be started.

Try open Web-client locally on the server where Dynamics NAV Web service runs. Use url http://localhost:8080/DynamicsNAV90/webclient

If you can't, then show the error, please.

I just completed the setup of the Webclient for my installation. There were two issues that I had to work with.

First, if you are attempting to access dynamics from outside of your local network (the internet) you may need to add a forwarding of a sub domain to your internet site. Our web site was hosted on an outside server (similar to godaddy), so I had to log in there and created the sub domain "dynamics.yourwebsite.com". Then I had to redirect all the traffic for that subdomain back to the ip address of our router. You may just need to deal with the service (DNS) that sends your traffic to your router if you host your own site.

Second, we already had port 8080 directed to another one of our three servers so we change and used another port, You may have 8080 free, we did not. I then had the router direct all that traffic to the IIS for our dynamics.

It sounds like a firewall/av issue :) Try to ping the server by IP and verify that the ports are opened. If you post a screen capture with the error it might help :)

Agreed with Miguel. This seems to be a issue with firewall.
