Budget planning distribution

Dear experts,

I am trying to setup opex budget process in D365 F&O, I was able to create Budget plan but when I am submitting it to workflow for next stage processing, System is creating child budget plan for my Departments, but budget plans lines are not there i.e. system is creating child budget plan but not distributing the amount to department.

Please help to let me know where and what I am missing.

    Hi Amit,

    That looks ok in general.

    Can you please check that your hierarchy is ok?

    Also, have a look at this and the related video to find out what you might have overlooked.

    It is for AX2012 but still applies to D365FO as well; at least largely except for the templates and Excel integration.

    Thanks for the reply.

    Although now the system has started creating child budget plan with lines but now it's failing on workflow level with following error:

    Stopped (error): X++ Exception: The workflow item task cannot be assigned because user <user name> cannot view budget plan 30-000019.

    SysWorkflowParticipantProvider-resolveParticipants
    SysWorkflowServiceProvider-resolveParticipant
    SysWorkflowQueue-resume

    Hello Amit,

    Can you share how you configured your budget plan and especially the allocation schedules in the budget planning configuration?

    Some screenprints would help a lot.

    Hello Amit515301,

    Make sure that in your Layout if you have the leger dimension set to MA+BU+DEPT

    Also, in your Hierarchy you will see that i Finance is dept: 024 and Sales & Marketing is dept: 022

    When you are in Budget Plan, you will want to make sure you are using dept 024 or dept 022. The reason for this that is that the Organizational Hierarchy is the map on how the data flows. Workflow is just used to move the data.

    If you don't reference the Departments that are listed in the Org Heirarchy then you will get Child budgets created but with no data. That is because there was no valid account string
