We are looking to implement Fixed Assets in GP, but have a very peculiar subset of PP&E that needs to be tracked very carefully. We'll call this CIP. This CIP can span many, many projects that are comprised of many purchases each. So, for each project, there may be hundreds of invoices. Currently, we integrate the project number that needs to be tracked into the PO number, and through various smartlists, and some external SQL queries, draw the data out of GP and load it into another application which is our fixed assets subledger.
What are your experiences with companies that have multiple CIP projects and also have GP Fixed Assets implemented? Have the companies been successful at using GP FA as a solution to their tracking needs? What about the projects module?
