ShortcutDim Code/ adding dimension to a page

Hey guys!

I have a following problem. I have to make a new solution for Order planning, and i need to add our 8 dimensions to it, 2nd dimenssion which is budget code Works fine, but rest of them doesnt even fill. I checked other pages, and i noticed they are called (for example)"ShortCutDimCode[3] and they are added to page only, they do not have fields in actual tables... My question is how do i make them to automatically fill in the order planning page? Everything else is taking data from Requisition Line and unplanned demand, also Get unplanned demand code unit.

Or maybe somebody can just explain how to add these dimension fields to a page in general?

Basically they need to fill from Sales Order-->(Press calculate plan)Order planning(Make Orders)-->Planning Worksheets(Carry out action message)-->Purchase order

Thank you, i hope somebody can help me to solve this, cause the worst part is i didnt knew that u dont need to add dimension fields in a tables, so no on Order planning all those dimension fields from sales order are filled, but they dont show up when we press dimension button in ribbon and then obvioulsy they dont go any further.

    Hi,

Are you using a separate table to store your Order Planning data?  NAV 2013 onwards the Dimensions have a specific approach (using the Dimension Set ID concept).

You may refer the Sales Order Subform for example.

You need to first study the new functionality of Dimension set that has been introduced from NAV 2013 onwards, using that you need to create a set id which contains all the dimension value you need and assign it to the required document.

    Hi, Mahesh!

We have new table created for this client, but its basically like regular sales order table, and yes i did use subform, cause we need dimensions in the line, not in the header.

I, however, have never heard of Dimension Set ID before... cause for all the other clients we use NAV 2016, so this older version is bit more confussing...

    Hi Lindars,

You can set dimension set on tanle level - for Sales line field number 480 - Dimension Set ID

When you check on page dimensions by line system show you related dimensions for this set

I checked it and it looks fine, but how can i now get those shortcutdimcode[] "fields" in my page? Also i need them to fill from sales orders.

You need not get those field on the page, they are shown when you open dimension via order planning document page as you do for sales header.

System creates a set id (i.e. parent child relation) and stored it in the dimension set table (480), so when ever you want to retrieve it you just need to search the set id.

Check the page that is attached in sales order document page under control actions.

    Hi Linards,

You can assing for line Dimension set from Sales line for Planning Worksheets lines and use Page -  Edit Dimension Set Entries (480) to check dimensions.

If you open Planing Worksheet and calculate plan you can check dimension set for line also.
