    Hi Pirmin,

Dynamics AX is designed to authenticate based on the Active Directory login. This is the only way using the AX client.  It is not possible to login based on user Id's.

How can i mange to open AX so that i can choose at start-up weather i want to use as "MYUSER" or "LIVEADMIN"  without signing out of wndows and back in ?

    Hi Pirmin,

You can hold the Shift-key and right click the Dynamics AX client icon and choose to run as different user.

Then you can provide the windows credentials to log in as another user.

Hello Pirmin, did you find any solution for this?

We have a case where a computer is used by different users during the work day. It would be nice to force sign-on as different user and also have an automatic signoff/disconnect after fx 30 minutes idle.

    Best regards

In the last mentioned scenario, you can use Windows functionality to go to screensaver after a couple of minutes of inactivity and have the logon screen forced on resuming from the screensaver. Users can switch accounts from the logon screen. As beforementioned there is no way to force AX to do this.

Thank you Dennis, that is a good solution that will do for now.

to avoid having a lot of user sessions in AX you could also use the auto logoff options on the useroptions. I Always set it up to logoff Ax a few minutes before logging off Terminal server session, it will avoid hanging sessions in AX that can only be killed by restarting the AOS. In Ax2009 it will also consume licenses, making you run out of them.

PS this option is also great to annoy your co-worker on April fools. Just setup 1 minute :)
