    Eric,

You can also use batch disposition code to ignore specific batches of material (if you're using batch controlled items.)  If you uncheck the "nettable" box, you can make certain statuses of batches be ignored during master planning.

Be careful with this, though, because that inventory isn't seen by MRP.  If ignoring that inventory causes you to fall below your minimum, you'll be prompted by planned orders to purchase/produce more material.

With R3 if you are using the Inventory Status you can set this to be part of the coverage group with the dimension group item coverage flag. With batches you have the batch disposition group.

    Hi Steven,

Question, using AX 2012 R3, is there another way to ignore a stock, I'm thinking about the stock status. Do the replenishment calculation includes "stock blocking" quantities ?

    Thanks

As a real workaround tick the warehouse flag on the dimension group (pretty sure you can do this even with transactions) then flag it as manual on the warehouse. Planning should work exactly the same (unless you have specific item coverage settings for the "site" where you will need to then specify it for the warehouses as well).

That is, unfortunately, what the tick is for - if you need to control planning by warehouse you tick the dimension group which allows you to manually exclude warehouses and has no additional impact except to allow you to configure inter-warehouse replenishment rules. If you have not ticked it there really is no "workaround" except to instruct people ignore it on replenishments, but the greater impact is your quarantine stock is seen as available stock so is included in the replenishment calculation.

Are there any known workarounds ? We run master scheduling for one site, and all items have dimension groups with coverage only for site, but we have some warehouses within this site for which we want to leave out on hand inventory.

You tick the 'Manual' flag on the Master Planning tab on the warehouse - but this only works if coverage by warehouse is ticked on the dimension group
