Automatic Case Creation from E-Mail (CRM 2011 on premise)

Hi there,

my issue: I need e-mails automatically converted into cases. I thought this would be easy, but unfortunately it isn't.

I have created a workflow that does his job quite well if I put in the Case field "Customer*" a predefined Contact, but if I want to have the dynamic value "from" of the e-mails in the field the workflow can't resolve and fails.

It is clear for me that here something else is needed behind the simple workflow: a plugin, I guess, that tells CRM which entity to search and let me set the "Customer" field in my workflows.

I'm unfortunately not much into programming and plugin writing... So my question is: are there some free open-source resources in form of solution, code or whatever (I couldn't find anything)? If not, which "essential" commercial solution would be possible? I could find only complete solutions including several additional features that I do not need.

    If you are using CRM 2013 SP1 or Online Springwave 2014,

    There Is a new feature to convert email to Case creation automatically

    But, I think you are using CRM 2011, based on your Tags, is that correct? :)

    This tool uses simple xml configuration to monitor and covert email into case.

    Hi Chitra,

    I found this solution in Codeplex already, but this works only for CRM 4.0 and I have not the skills to rewrite it for 2011...  Thanks anyway!

    This tool works for crm 2011 as well . You have to get version 2.0 to work with 2011 version

    I used this tool until we upgraded to 2013 and it works very well
