Workflow Stopped (Error) - Notifications

I have built some workflows which link into the Project Module and required approval from the Project Manager and Project controller. If there is no user assigned to either of these roles the workflow stops - as you would expect. Is there any way of setting up an email notification, or system notifcation which would alert the workflow user, in this case PO raiser, to the fact that the workflow is stopped in error.

Obviously the Manager and Controllers should be filled in but in this case some are slipping through the net and I need to build in a safety net incase some larger value POs aren't picked up.

Thanks in advance for any help.

in notification there are options, to send notification person of your choice such as workflow originator, so you can select that.

Usually what we do in such cases, we do customize the behavior i.e. we don't allow users to submit workflow, unless he/she provides all needed data

Yes, you can add in the workflow definition notifications. Just open the workflow (main level) in the editor and you will have a Notifications tab. You can define there the setup you need (setup for a Stopped state). Notifications will be sent using the Alerts system of AX.

To have emails actually sent from the system, you will also need to configure the emailing system. This implies setting up an SMTP server, starting the emailing batch job, and configuring the emails for the users.
